Overview:

Speech Therapy PD is an ASHA-approved continuing education platform built for speech-language pathologists — by speech-language pathologists. The product brings together 1,500+ courses, live webinars, conferences, and expert-led podcasts in one place, and lets clinicians track every CE hour they earn, even from outside providers.

My Role

I led UI/UX design across the public-facing site and the in-product experience — the marketing website, user dashboard, LMS, design system, and marketing creatives like banners, social posts, and paid ad assets. Branding was developed separately by the brand team.

Process

Because of the project's size and confidentiality, early explorations, wireframes, and the previous version of the site aren't something I can share here — what follows are final screens. The decisions behind the information architecture, the dashboard structure, and the course flow were mine, made in close collaboration with the marketing and content teams.

The Challenge

The legacy product didn't match the quality of the content behind it — the library had grown much faster than the experience around it. Navigation was overwhelming, with 1,500+ pages and no clear hierarchy, which made it hard for users to find the right course. The value proposition wasn't obvious either: new visitors couldn't quickly tell what the platform actually offered or why they should choose it over competitors. On top of that, the marketing site, user dashboard, and LMS felt like three separate products glued together. The goal was to turn a content-heavy platform into a clear, consistent experience across marketing, learning, and account management.

Website Design

Marketing Website

I rebuilt the information architecture for a 1,500+ page library so that categories, series, certifications, and presenters now follow a consistent structure that's easy to scan. Alongside that, I designed flexible templates for course pages, category pages, presenter profiles, conferences, and the blog, giving the marketing team a system they can scale content within without breaking it. Conversion paths from public pages to pricing and sign-up were tightened up, and every layout was designed mobile-first — a large share of SLPs browse between sessions.

User Dashboard & LMS

The dashboard became one unified hub instead of three disconnected tools. The CE Tracker, one of the product's signature features, lets users log CE hours earned anywhere — not just on Speech Therapy PD — and see all their progress against ASHA, BCS-S, BCS-CL, CLC, CBIS, and other boards in one place. The "My Learning" view brings together courses in progress, completed CEUs, and upcoming live sessions, while certification pathways guide clinicians through advanced specializations step by step — turning a sprawling catalog into a clear personal roadmap.

Course Experience

The course player brings together video lectures, presentation slides, handouts, and graded quizzes in a single, focused view. A persistent content sidebar keeps every lesson and document one click away, progress is tracked against ASHA-compliant checkpoints, and quizzes support multiple formats — multiple choice, true/false, and open answer. Everything adapts across desktop, tablet, and mobile, so clinicians can pick up where they left off between sessions.

Design System

The design system is a scalable, token-based foundation that powers both the marketing site and the product. It covers shared foundations like type, color, spacing, and motion, alongside a library of reusable components — course cards, filters, content tables, certification badges, media players, and dashboard widgets — with documented states, responsive rules, and usage guidelines. It cut handoff time, reduced inconsistencies between teams, and made it easier to ship new course types, conferences, and certification flows without redesigning from scratch.

Marketing Creatives

Beyond the product, I designed homepage banners, paid ad campaigns, email visuals, and social media templates for new courses, free webinar series, monthly CE lineups, and conferences. Everything was built as reusable, on-brand layouts, so the marketing team could produce dozens of variations without starting from zero each time.
